A horn with which to drink. Thorfinna, having picked a Norse persona, wanted to make a drinking horn. She bought a bored cow horn from Tandy Leather, scrubbed the insides with a wire brush (not too harshly) to remove any bits, then filled it with Guiness for 24 hours (the beer acts as a curer, removing the horn taste, and helps seal any small holes, removing the need to wax the inside of the horn). She then made a leather loop for the top end, made a cap for the other, and attached them with a cord. While it looks good, drinking horns are awkward to carry around, and can spill easily.
Thorfinna working on the girdle book.  The completed girdle book. Colyne wanted to make a girdle book (one bound with cloth that hangs from the belt). He made the pattern but being an incompetent with a needle and thread, Thorfinna graciously finished the project. The pattern is actually very simple, and it will soon be posted here.
Wanting to try her hand at leather working, Thorfinna stitched herself a decent scouting pouch, complete with white diamond, from a pattern of her own design.

Wanting her feast gear to be distinctive, Thorfinna painted it red, with a Celtic dog design on one side (the same one as on our main page). A picture is coming soon. Thorfinna is hoping to get more bowls painted soon, and they'll be available for purchase from our on-line store.

Not having enough talent, Thorfinna then tried her hand at pewter casting. She's finding it a challenge, but so far her successes are rather attractive (so say I, her devoted hubby).

An Ealdormere groat and penny, a Thor's Hammer and a household favour, brooch and House favour.
